JULY IWSG

Good morning all! Woohoo, I made it another month without falling apart on the blogging. It had been so long, I accidentally commented to a lot of you through my other blog’s profile. Aye, aye, aye. I need to do some fine tuning again.

Anyhoo, it’s that wonderful time of month again.

My hero, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this group and it has become a safe haven if you are an insecure writer.

July 1 question – There have been many industry changes in the last decade, so what are some changes you would like to see happen in the next decade?

I know the question is optional and to be honest, I’m not exactly sure. I’ve been writing for years and still consider myself an amateur. I know it’s supposed to be easier than ever to self publish, but if I could get a copy of Publishing for Super Dummies, that’d be great.

I’m doing ok with my writing, but need to catch up and research some of the changes.

If anyone can spare a minute or two to let me know what’s been going on, I’d be more than grateful.

JUST IN TIME FOR JUNE’S IWSG

Good morning all. I’m back, aiming for the long term. It’s been forever since I’ve been on, and what better way to celebrate than having my post about the #IWSG! Yep, I finally signed back up as I’ve missed it so much.

June 3 question – Writers have secrets! What are one or two of yours, something readers would never know from your work

I’ll admit it. I have more than a couple of secrets. I think the biggest one I have is the fact that I’m petrified of people reading my work. I’m told I write nice blog posts and the only people that I’ve felt ok with reading them are my family and members of my Dragon family.

That’s not to say I haven’t sent stories out. I have, many times, to no avail. I’m just going to keep plugging away. Someone’s gotta bite one day, right?

What are some of your fears? Any advice for a chicken like me?

WELCOME ME BACK!!

Hey there my beloved blogger friends! Hope all is well with you guys. I’ve been gone for several months due to an unexpectedly accidental computer mishap, among other things. But I’m back. Again. <Rolling eyes> Let’s see if I can keep up with you guys this time.

I’d be remiss not to put out there how much I’ve missed blogging and my blogging friends. I hope I haven’t lost too many of you in my absence. I just wanted you all to know that I’m OK.   XOXOXO

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.

The awesome co-hosts for the February 3 posting of the IWSG will be Allison Gammons, Tamara Narayan,  Rachel Pattison,  Ann V. Friend  and yours truly!! 🙂

Please take a moment to thank the co-hosts for all their hard work this month.

I can’t believe January has come and gone and we’re in February already. I usually set goals for the year in January, with a mid-year goal check, and year-end final analysis. I’m starting late this year because the past couple of months have been difficult on a personal level. You can read more about it on my other blog My Miracle Life.

Keeping it short and simple, here are my most important goals for 2016:

  1. Continue writing and submitting stories to contests.
  2. Get back to blogging my regularly scheduled blog posts (which was going so well until everything went haywire)
  3. Dedicate time for guest bloggers
  4. Continue working on my long neglected WIP

What are your goals for this year? Did you accomplish everything you planned to last year? Are you trying anything new or out of your comfort zone?

It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.

My hero, and adopted virtual brother, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this amazing group and it is where to go if you are an insecure writer.

Purpose:  To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.

The awesome co-hosts for this month’s posting of the IWSG are: Nancy Gideon, Bob R Milne, Doreen McGettigan, Chrys Fey, Bish Denham, and Pat Garcia!

Make sure you thank them for their hard work today!!  😀

I owe you all an apology. I haven’t been blogging for the past several weeks, nor have I been on social media much. Haven’t been feeling well lately. I explained as much in my #IWSG post on My Miracle Life blog.  I’d been doing well for the past several months until I hit a bump in the road a few weeks back.

It’s time for me to catch up with you guys now. It’s going to take a little time, but most of you know how I feel about you. My last post was about 3.5 weeks ago, so I’ve no doubt I missed a lot of good stuff while offline.

I don’t know if I mentioned this before, but my entry never made to WRiTE CLUB this year. I’ll have to try again next year. Maybe, if I still feel like a writer. I’m basically doubting everything right now.

All I really want to know right now is, how are YOU all doing? I’ve missed you guys since I’ve been away. Oh, okay. Fine. Just one about me. Have you ever gotten enough story rejections to make you stop submitting for a while? Just curious.
