It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.

My hero, and adopted virtual brother, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this amazing group and it is where to go if you are an insecure writer.

Purpose:  To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.

The awesome co-hosts for this month’s posting of the IWSG are: Nancy Gideon, Bob R Milne, Doreen McGettigan, Chrys Fey, Bish Denham, and Pat Garcia!

Make sure you thank them for their hard work today!!  😀

I owe you all an apology. I haven’t been blogging for the past several weeks, nor have I been on social media much. Haven’t been feeling well lately. I explained as much in my #IWSG post on My Miracle Life blog.  I’d been doing well for the past several months until I hit a bump in the road a few weeks back.

It’s time for me to catch up with you guys now. It’s going to take a little time, but most of you know how I feel about you. My last post was about 3.5 weeks ago, so I’ve no doubt I missed a lot of good stuff while offline.

I don’t know if I mentioned this before, but my entry never made to WRiTE CLUB this year. I’ll have to try again next year. Maybe, if I still feel like a writer. I’m basically doubting everything right now.

All I really want to know right now is, how are YOU all doing? I’ve missed you guys since I’ve been away. Oh, okay. Fine. Just one about me. Have you ever gotten enough story rejections to make you stop submitting for a while? Just curious.

Express Yourself – ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Hello bloggers! It’s time for Express Yourself, the weekly blog hop that posts different topics and updates monthly. I’ve been out of the loop for a bit, plus the meme was on brief hiatus in April for the A-Z Challenge (whew!).

Jackie Felger from Bouquet of Books and Dani Bertrand from Entertaining Interests founded this great blog hop that has a great group of people with weekly topics that change every month.

They also have a site they co-author together called  Cover Girls.

What the girls would like to know for  the week of May 11-14 is: Now that we’re 1/3 of the way through 2015, what’ve I accomplished so far?

Actually, I’ve accomplished a lot. 🙂

  1. I participated and completed my very first A-Z Challenge this year.
  2. I entered a piece in this year’s WRiTE CLUB competition for the second year in a row.
  3. I’ve managed to keep up about 98% of the goals I’ve set for myself since the beginning of the year. Whatever I couldn’t accomplish or fell behind on was mostly due to illness or exhaustion.
  4. Been working on getting My Miracle Life blog to where I want it to be. It should be done by summer’s end.
  5. I completed this year’s round of physical therapy with flying colors!
  6. I’m becoming more socially involved and ‘getting out there’ so I’m not stuck home alone with Sophie all day.
  7. I’m working on a story that continues my WC piece.

What have you accomplished since the New Year began?

It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group – Twitter Hashtag: #IWSG.

My hero, mentor, and adopted virtual brother, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this amazing group and it has become a safe haven for any insecure writer, blogger, or artistically inclined creative.

Purpose:To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.

I will be co-hosting the May 6 IWSG with the wonderful  Melanie Schulz, Lisa-Buie Collard, and Stephen Tremp!

April was one heck of a month for me. I participated and completed my first ever A-Z Challenge. Go me.

I entered this years WRiTE CLUB for the second year in a row. I didn’t make the cut last year; maybe I’ll get lucky this time around.

For the first time EVER, I let others online critique my work, and took it like a champ. ( Of course, while I was waiting for them to come in, I thought I was DYING inside!) Some were gentle; one, not so much. Don’t get me wrong, the critiques were constructive and fair, and the best part is that I learned from them. Most of the critiques came from published authors, no less.

The piece I was working on kept going, so I’m continuing to write it so I can see where it takes me.

Did you take part in any special event in April, like the A-Z or Camp NaNoWriMo? Did anyone else throw their anonymous hat in for the WRiTE CLUB this year?

It’s the final few days of the A-Z Challenge and I made it to W!   Woot, Woot!! What a ride it’s been! When I say ride, I mean a rollercoaster, for sure.

Several times during this challenge I’ve contemplated giving it up for one reason or another; some of them legitimate.  Then I thought to myself, I won’t do that, especially since I made a promise to Tina Downey that I would do this no matter what.

I rearranged some things; it had to be done. Some people might not like the order in which I changed these things, but it’s only temporary. Promise. I may get a kick or two for it from my Fellowship. (Padding my sweats in preparation, just in case). < Sigh >

I also made a last-minute decision this month to throw my hat in for WRiTECLUB2015DFW  this years WRiTE CLUB, hosted by my distinguished fellow blogging buddy DL Hammons. So, yeah, I took on a lot this month. I’m not even going to include the everyday things that came out of left field, because that’ll just irk me and I’m in a pretty good mood right now. 🙂

In a few more days I’ll be able to look up to the heavens, blow some kisses and say, “I did it, Tina.”

That all being said, did you know that the following people were born in the Bronx?

  1. Washington, Kerry – Actress
  2. Whitfield, Charles Malik – Actor
  3. Walker, Jimmie – Actor, Comedian

How challenging was your April? Was there any special reason you decided to take part this year? Was there any point you were close to giving up?

A-Z Challenge – ISWG EMERGENCY

Time for I in the A-Z Challenge today. I’ve been trying to tie in things on the Bronx in my posts – not so much today. I need to talk about an insecurity I have right now that’s festering because I’m trying to do so many things at once. Seriously. This is an emergency. For me anyway.

A to Z Challenge

Jump Around!

I’m sure some of you know that I’m been a faithful member of Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh’s     Insecure Writer’s Support Group since I first discovered it a few months after I started this blog.

It’s been an extraordinarily busy month for me. I’m having a lot of fun with this challenge and am learning a lot of new and exciting things, but it’s taking up a great deal of my time. I also have my recovery efforts to think about, appointments to keep and tests to take. Oh, and my Minion duties… 😀

Believe me when I say I’m not complaining about any of it. My problem, or shall I say, my insecurity is this:  Fellow blogger buddy DL Hammons is running his annual contest again, the WRiTE CLUB.

I tried for it last year and didn’t make the cut. It’s okay; I knew my entry kinda sucked, but at least I tried. Thing is, I want to try again this year but I don’t know if I’ll have the time with everything else going on. The deadline for the 500 word piece is April 30. See my dilemma? Even if I can squeak out a draft, I may not make deadline. You can check my other blog here for more of a history of my illness and disability.

Are any of my fellow A-Z’ers planning on competing in any writing competitions this month? How’s your week going so far?
