Good morning all. I’m back, aiming for the long term. It’s been forever since I’ve been on, and what better way to celebrate than having my post about the #IWSG! Yep, I finally signed back up as I’ve missed it so much.

My hero, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this group and it has become a safe haven if you are an insecure writer.

June 3 question – Writers have secrets! What are one or two of yours, something readers would never know from your work

I’ll admit it. I have more than a couple of secrets. I think the biggest one I have is the fact that I’m petrified of people reading my work. I’m told I write nice blog posts and the only people that I’ve felt ok with reading them are my family and members of my Dragon family.

That’s not to say I haven’t sent stories out. I have, many times, to no avail. I’m just going to keep plugging away. Someone’s gotta bite one day, right?

What are some of your fears? Any advice for a chicken like me?

  1. I say let some seasoned writers read your work. If they think it’s up to par, try self-publishing something. If not, take their advice on how to make it better. In any case, if you want to go the traditional route, okay, but there are many hybrid authors out there. Just because you self publish doesn’t mean you can’t do both.
