Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.

The awesome co-hosts for the February 3 posting of the IWSG will be Allison Gammons, Tamara Narayan,  Rachel Pattison,  Ann V. Friend  and yours truly!! 🙂

Please take a moment to thank the co-hosts for all their hard work this month.

I can’t believe January has come and gone and we’re in February already. I usually set goals for the year in January, with a mid-year goal check, and year-end final analysis. I’m starting late this year because the past couple of months have been difficult on a personal level. You can read more about it on my other blog My Miracle Life.

Keeping it short and simple, here are my most important goals for 2016:

  1. Continue writing and submitting stories to contests.
  2. Get back to blogging my regularly scheduled blog posts (which was going so well until everything went haywire)
  3. Dedicate time for guest bloggers
  4. Continue working on my long neglected WIP

What are your goals for this year? Did you accomplish everything you planned to last year? Are you trying anything new or out of your comfort zone?

I can’t believe the first half of 2015 has come and gone! It’s been an interesting and eventful six months for me. I’ve met and exceeded my goals for the first half of the year. I’m proud of that accomplishment. Although my blogging hasn’t been on a set schedule, I’ve managed to keep up the minimum three posts per month I set for myself.

I’ve been able to get more writing time in, which is a great thing. Editing some of my older stories has taken up some of my time. I’m getting back into content writing that’s been on the back burner for the better part of the year. My attempts at poetry have been meh, but I’m not giving up.

Me time has definitely been a good thing for me in my efforts to decompress and de-stress. I’m going to take it easy with my writing over the summer and enjoy some good times.

I do plan on increasing my social media presence though. I’ve been a bad girl in that department.

How have you made out the first half of 2015? What are your plans for the summer – increasing or decreasing your online presence? Until next month…

It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group – Twitter Hashtag: #IWSG.

My hero, mentor, and adopted virtual brother, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this amazing group and it has become a safe haven for any insecure writer, blogger, or artistically inclined creative.

I will be co-hosting the May 6 IWSG with the wonderful  Melanie Schulz, Lisa-Buie Collard, and Stephen Tremp!

April was one heck of a month for me. I participated and completed my first ever A-Z Challenge. Go me.

I entered this years WRiTE CLUB for the second year in a row. I didn’t make the cut last year; maybe I’ll get lucky this time around.

For the first time EVER, I let others online critique my work, and took it like a champ. ( Of course, while I was waiting for them to come in, I thought I was DYING inside!) Some were gentle; one, not so much. Don’t get me wrong, the critiques were constructive and fair, and the best part is that I learned from them. Most of the critiques came from published authors, no less.

The piece I was working on kept going, so I’m continuing to write it so I can see where it takes me.

Did you take part in any special event in April, like the A-Z or Camp NaNoWriMo? Did anyone else throw their anonymous hat in for the WRiTE CLUB this year?

Insecure Writer’s Support Group – New Year Goals

Hello writers and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015! It’s the first Wednesday of January and what better time for us to share our goals for the next 365 days than at the first IWSG meeting of the year. I’ll be coming up on my 2nd year as a member of the #IWSG in another two months or so.

For all the new members, allow me to introduce myself. 🙂 My given name is Eva Solar, though I use one of my two  pen names for writing – Lilica Blake/Lily Eva Blake. It all depends on what I’m writing.  My other blog My Miracle Life, uses my real name because it relates to my life post brain hemorrhage/stroke. I also use it for non-fiction, content and article based writing.

Now that the introductions are out of the way, I’m sure you’re all aware that the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this spectacular group and it has become THE PLACE to go if you are an insecure writer.

The  co-hosts for the January 7 posting of the IWSG are Elizabeth Seckman, Lisa Buie-Collard, Chrys Fey, and Michelle Wallace!

Please make sure you stop by and thank them for all their hard work. My doctor has ordered more physical therapy for me; you’ll be able to read more about it on my IWSG post on my other blog.

That means my number one goal has to be ORGANIZATION when it comes to my writing life. I’ve already started listing. I’m going to try keeping it short, so I’ll just bullet list it below.

  • Publish posts at least 6 times a month
  • Post at least 1 book review monthly (since I’m always reading!)
  • Focus on editing what I’ve already written before starting anything new. Jotting down ideas doesn’t count! 🙂
  • If the work I edit is actually any good, I’ll increase my submissions from last year. (Yeah, I have that much stuff.)
