It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.

My hero, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this amazing group and it has become a safe haven for any and all insecure writers.

Click the image if you would like to be a part of this phenomenal group. You won’t regret it.

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.

The awesome co-hosts for the July 1 posting of the IWSG will be Charity Bradford, S.A. Larsen, AJ, Tamara Narayan, Allison Gammons, and Tanya Miranda!

I can’t believe the first half of 2015 has come and gone! It’s been an interesting and eventful six months for me. I’ve met and exceeded my goals for the first half of the year. I’m proud of that accomplishment. Although my blogging hasn’t been on a set schedule, I’ve managed to keep up the minimum three posts per month I set for myself.

I’ve been able to get more writing time in, which is a great thing. Editing some of my older stories has taken up some of my time. I’m getting back into content writing that’s been on the back burner for the better part of the year. My attempts at poetry have been meh, but I’m not giving up.

Me time has definitely been a good thing for me in my efforts to decompress and de-stress. I’m going to take it easy with my writing over the summer and enjoy some good times.

I do plan on increasing my social media presence though. I’ve been a bad girl in that department.

How have you made out the first half of 2015? What are your plans for the summer – increasing or decreasing your online presence? Until next month…

My hero, mentor, and adopted virtual brother, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this amazing group and it has become THE PLACE to go if you are an insecure writer.

Click the image if you would like to be a part of this phenomenal group. You won’t regret it.

The group’s purpose is to share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.

The awesome co-hosts for the June 3 posting of the IWSG will be M. Pax, Tracy Jo, Patricia Lynne, Rachna Chhabria, Feather Stone, and Randi Lee!

Please make it a point to stop by and thank them for all their hard work!

May kept me busy. Busy is good. I was able to get a decent amount of writing done, in addition to my blog postings (for both), doctor appointments, and some allocated ‘me’ time.

Although I did have a couple of personal stumbling blocks, the month was productive in the way of writing/blogging goals. Steady as she goes! After April’s A-Z Challenge, May felt like a breeze. 🙂 I’m continuing to work on a story I started in April and I have a good idea where it’s going, so now I only need to give myself a deadline for the first draft. I’m considering the end of summer.

How productive was your May? Working on any upcoming projects? If so, are you rushing to complete them, or are you taking them slow and steady? If there’s anything this blogger can help you with, please let me know.  🙂

Very Inspiring Blogger Award

I’ve just received a Very Inspiring Blogger Award from friend and fellow blogger Deanie Humphries-Dunne. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am; it’s been a long time since I’ve received one.   🙂

veryinspiringblogaward

The rules for accepting this award are as follows:

1. Thank the person who nominated you, and link to their blog.
2. Display the award logo.
3. Nominate at least 15 other blogs (about) and provide a link where they can be found.
4. Then, let them know you nominated them, and where to find the information they need to accept (rules).
5. Mention three things that inspired you the most during the past few weeks.

There are so many people and things that have inspired me, not only over the past few weeks, but years too. Most recently, I’d have to say the top three things that have inspired me to move forward and work towards completing my goals are:

  1. My Fellowship of the Dragon – They keep me in serious check.

  2. My daughter Mandy who’s been going above and beyond for me lately

  3. My neighbor and friend Tamera who has been a godsend for me, truly.

I know that many of the bloggers that I’m nominating already have a ton of awards. I’m nominating them because I want them to know how much they mean to me and how much they inspire me. Whether they choose to nominate anyone else, post about it, or display the award is completely up to them.

That being said, here is my list of nominees:

  1. Alex J. Cavanaugh
  2. Al Diaz
  3. David Powers King
  4. Mark Koopmans
  5. Elizabeth Seckman
  6. Lisa Buie-Collard
  7. Melissa Maygrove
  8. Morgan Shamy
  9. Jo Wake
  10. Dani Bertrand
  11. Jackie Felger
  12. Rebecca Bradley
  13. Charles Yallowitz
  14. My Miracle Life

Again, thank you Deanie for this wonderful award. I am deeply humbled. Now I’m off to let my nominees know… Until next post everyone, have a great one!

Remembering a Great Friend – Sunflowers for Tina

I’m still at a loss after losing a great blogging friend, Tina Downey, a couple of weeks ago. Sunflowers for Tina 2She was one of the most positive people I’ve ever ‘met’ on the internet and always had something positive to say about everything. Her motto was #lifeisgood.

A group of her fellow bloggers and fans decided to use today, September 8, 2014 as a day to remember Tina and her loving and positive nature.

Today is:

Sunflowers for Tina Day

LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Writing 101-Day 5-Be Brief

Here is my post for Writing-101 Day 5-Be Brief (It’s all about brevity!)

You stumble upon a random letter on the path. You read it. It affects you deeply, and you wish it could be returned to the person to which it’s addressed. Write a story about this encounter. Today’s twist: Approach this post in as few words as possible.

I stumble upon this homemade card while walking through the park. It looks like it’s been made recently. I leave it in the hope that whoever wrote it comes back for it. I wish someone wrote it a few years back; we might still be friends.
