What Do Bloggers Eat at a Meet & Greet ??

Hey guys! You have to, have to, have to, drop everything and check out my friend Stephanie’s blog, Once Upon Your Prime. She goes by the name, Little Miss Menopause… 😀 She just got nominated for a blogging award (a real one!! heehee) and will be going to a big to do soon. Her blog is hysterical. She graciously allowed me to re-blog one of her insanely funny posts.

Enjoy; when you’re done, make sure you follow her blog. She’ll have you pee-ing your pants all the time! Muah!

Once Upon Your Prime

Maybe they eat "Meet(and greet!)Balls? Maybe they eat “Meet(and greet!)Balls?

Seriously?  What was I thinking?  Registering for a huge Blogging Conference like BlogHer 2014?   I can’t converse with anyone verbally.  That’s why I became a writer in the first place.  And I don’t eat, I don’t sleep, I don’t talk, I don’t drink and I don’t dance. All I do is sit in front of a keyboard and type.

And the only reason I’m capable of that is because I’m protected by the online anonymity.  But that will be stripped away, too.  I’ll have to wear one of those “Hello!  I’m Little Miss Menopause!” name tags.  And then people will approach me.  And say, “Really?  You’re not so little.”  Or, “How can you be a Miss if you’re divorced?  Wouldn’t that make you a Ms?”  Or, “So are you having a hot flash right this minute or are you just nervous to meet me?”

Expressing Gratitude for the Butterfly Light Award Nomination

Happy Sunday, fellow bloggers. Going through my comments, I find that I have been nominated for the Butterfly Light Award by my friend Deanie Humphrys-Dunne, author of award-winning children’s book Tails of Sweetbriar.Butterfly Light Award

Conditions For Accepting The Award
Here are the conditions for accepting the award :
1. You must write an acceptance post, making sure you link back to the blogger who awarded you and thank them. You MAY NOT lump this award in with a batch of other awards.
2. You must individually name and re-award to a minimum of 1 blogger. You must let them know either personally with a comment on their blog OR a pingback.
4. You must write a short paragraph entitled either “How I’m Spreading Light” OR “How I’m A Positive Influence”
5. Display Belinda’s lovely “Butterfly Light Award” badge on your blog.
Thanks so much, Deanie for thinking of me for this Award! It is a special one and I will treat it as such. 🙂 I’m so blessed to be able to call you my friend.
How I’m a Positive Influence
I am a positive influence by offering the best advice I can to the younger generation. Back when I was still working as an EMT, I had countless ‘kids’ who were either EMTs or paramedics half my age that came to me for advice, both personal and job related. It took me over a year of therapies after my bleed to be able to slowly start my blogging and writing adventure. I look at my WordPress site and still don’t know what half the doohickeys do, but I’ll learn. After a handful of recent heart-wrenching losses, I’m researching sites and resources, so I can make them available to others. I’ve picked up many other things along the way and share what I’ve learned freely. I believe in paying it forward; I promote other writers and artists works, so others can do the same.
I consider this to be a very special Award, and because of that, I am only nominating one blogger for it:
Jo Murphey-THE MURPHEY SAGA has inspired, motivated and, at times invisibly knocked sense back into my head whenever I would have a ‘woe is me’ day. Her Sunday stroke posts are especially helpful. I subscribe to her blog by email and read it always. I know how busy she is and don’t expect her to be able to follow the rules and guidelines required for accepting this Award. I wouldn’t be surprised if she did, though; at the end of her posts, she always ends with: “Nothing is impossible with determination.” Her faith, determination, and motivation helps fuel mine. I love her! 😀

Until next post, hugs!

I’ve Been BLITZED! And I Loved Every Minute!

The past few weeks have been extraordinarily busy for me. Between writing my post series about my stroke, some personal issues I’m dealing with on the home front, working on my novel, keeping up with my social media (or trying to, at least), I’ve been a chicken without a head. I had fallen behind in some things that I usually do religiously; like check my email.

I have followed DL Hammon’s BLOG BLITZ since I started my blog. Well, maybe two or three weeks after. . . Anyway, I’ve blitzed bloggers every time . I love it. I was beside myself when I checked my email recently only to find that I had missed a Blitz!

Willing to accept whatever punishment DL saw fit, I emailed him after I finally saw the Blitz email (five days later. Ayeee). I threw myself on the mercy of the Blitz King’s Court and briefly explained my circumstances. I was not, however, willing to accept being removed from the Blitz roster. . . (of course, I didn’t mention that to King, Master DL. I was too busy groveling explaining). I didn’t hear anything back from him. I thought to myself, that can’t be good.

The next thing I know, I go to my blog and I have a ton of comments waiting to be approved! I was ecstatic! The comments were amazing, inspiring and definitely lift me up spiritually. Thank you all!

And DL, if this is the kind of punishment you hand down to your subjects, give me more!! You are amazing!

On that note, I’m going to end this post with a huge smile on my face and hugs to all my blogger friends; old and new. Love you guys!

The action-packed, humor-filled, dramatic sequel to ‘Legends of Windemere: Beginning of a Hero’.

Battling through a demonic assassin and an army of monsters, Luke Callindor has survived his time at Hamilton Military Academy. Now, Luke and his friends must leave the safety of the academy to escort Duke Solomon’s heir down the L’dandrin river and into the safety of the city of Gods’ Voice. Joining them for this journey is Nyx, a powerful caster apprentice of Rainbow Tower. With her talent for combat magic and her short temper, Nyx will prove to be a challenge for Luke and all of their enemies.

Who will survive the harrowing trip down the L’dandrin River? And, who will be the one to break Luke’s trust?

I have waited ever so patiently for this to come out; it’s the second book in the Series. I read the first one and loved it (wink, wink Fizzle). If you haven’t read the first book yet, here’s the title and link:

Legends of Windemere: Beginning of a Hero

I’m also including the Goodreads link for Prodigy of Rainbow Tower.

I’m so excited. Just a couple of weeks ago I was busting Charles’ chops about when this book was finally going to be live and now I get to see what happens tomorrow with my crew! Sweet! Oh and by the way, I LOVE YOU FIZZLE!!

Mmmhmm, OK, I’m done now. See you at Amazon tomorrow!!  🙂

My thoughts for the day; Yes, I do have them occasionally…

As busy as I’ve been lately, trying to keep all my physical therapy, doctors appointments, trying to keep up my new blog, Twitter (my beloved Tweeps) and of course, my own writing; I’ve found something else that brings me an amazing amount of joy and happiness: PROMOTING FELLOW WRITERS’ WORKS.

It’s becoming almost an addiction for me. I know my WIP may take a bit because of the amount of time it takes to get my thoughts, ideas and characters out of my head and into the computer. Hopefully that issue will resolve itself sooner rather than later.

My point is, I’ve noticed a lot of writers and authors help promote other peoples’ work, but I’ve also noticed some who only post about me, me, and me. For this little blog of mine, which means the world to me, I’ve received a ton of advice and inspiration and good wishes. I can only imagine the help I would receive when I finish my WIP. It’s all about paying it forward.

On that note, I have to tell you, I follow Seumas Gallacher on Twitter, his handle is @seumasgallacher. I just read his new eBook “The Blogger’s Guide to Absolutely Nothing”. It was hysterical. No wonder he made Blogger of the Year. I would highly recommend that you check out his blog right here on WP or follow him on Twitter. You can download his eBook on Amazon. You’ll find my review there also. You won’t regret it.

So my dear fellow bloggers, I am going to try and get some writing done, before I buy another of Seumas’ books “Vengeance Wears Black”, otherwise I might not get any writing done for another night.

I’ll try and post tomorrow as well. Wishing you all a safe and blessed night and I haven’t forgotten to keep searching for my eBooks and blogs to assist new writers!
