Fast Five Friday is a weekly blog hop created by my blogger buddies Dani Bertrand and Jackie Felger. They co-host the blog Cover Girls together. Its purpose is to connect with writers, readers, viewers, and bloggers.

You may recognize the names, since I also participate in their Express Yourself blog hop.

They love lists, so they do a weekly blog hop where we list things. They provide the topics for each week, with five being the focus .

You’re not required to post every week, AND you can pick which topics you’d like to participate in. Awesome, right? Yeah, I think so too.

Whatever topics you decide to do, please include the link to your Fast Five Friday post in the comments section of their Fast Five Friday post each week, so they can stop by and show their Fast Five Friday love to you!

The list question for today, July 10, is:

What five autographs would you love to have? I’m not really an autograph collecting type. Knowing me, I’d probably lose them, like I lost my pic with Barry Gibb. I also caught one of two guitar picks Meatloaf used, and then threw t the audience at the last concert I attended… It’s around here somewhere…

That being said, if I could get autographs and actually save them, I would want the following:

  1. Barack Obama – President, believer in civil and equal rights and NOT afraid to show it
  2. Juan Luis Guerra – favorite Latin singer, Composer, Social Activist
  3. Elton John – Singer, Musician, Activist
  4. Eminem – Rapper, Lyrical Genius, Often Misunderstood
  5. Johnny Depp – Actor, Just because I could have it.  🙂

Whose autographs would you like to have? Let me know in the comments. Have a great weekend!

Jackie Felger from Bouquet of Books and Dani Bertrand from Entertaining Interests founded this great blog hop that has a great group of people with weekly topics that change every month. They also have a site they co-author together:  Cover Girls.

This topic for this week (June 22-26) is: If you could learn any out of the norm skill, what would it be?

Answer:  Fencing/Swordplay.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.   This image is (c) Disney.

Surprised ya, didn’t I? Always had an interest, but never followed through.  Must be the Captain Jack Sparrow in me. Okay, I know…don’t care. Yeah, I’m a Pirates of the Caribbean fan. What can I say, I’m young at heart.

Wonder if it’s too late to start learning… 😀 Can you imagine the chaos I’d cause? Haha!  :p

What’s the skill you wish you had? Any possibility you might still pursue it? Until next time!

This week’s topic is:

July 21-25, 2014: What are some fave items you have that bring you comfort and/or special memories?

I don’t have too many physical items anymore that bring me comfort. I do own a few DVDs that bring back special memories, though, like Weekend at Bernie’s II. My mom loved that movie, and the way she snorted at the funny parts makes me smile every time I think about it; she probably laughed through most of that movie. 🙂  Music was always a big part of my life too. After I had my bleed, my daughter took me to see Dark Shadows for Mother’s Day. One of my new favorite songs is in that movie, even though it’s a classic. I wrote briefly about it here. I also posted a video of the song on that post too, if you’d like to hear it. Nothing beats an oldie but a goodie.

I have a hand written poem my dad wrote me for my twentieth birthday that I read occasionally when I’m feeling down. I also have a small bead figurine my mom made by her own hand in the hospital a few months before she passed of multiple myeloma in November 2001. I keep it in a safe place and only take it out once in a while so I can hold it close to my heart and let her know I’m OK.

It’s your turn; what items brought you comfort and special memories?
