It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.
My hero, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this group and it has become a safe haven if you are an insecure writer.

March has come and gone, but I did get some stuff done. I finally switched my PA driver license to NY, which is a big deal for me. Now all I have to do is get myself back on the road. Baby steps, I suppose. I can’t believe it’s been almost seven years since I’ve driven. Fear is going to have to take a back seat this year. I don’t have time for it!! Like my neuropsychologist says, ‘Anything can happen to anyone at any time. Don’t let your fear overtake you.’ He’s right.
The same holds true for writing, too. I have to stop being so afraid of everything and throw myself out there. I did it for a while but crept back into my shell when the results weren’t as I had hoped. I’m braver now. Everyone in the house calls me Chef Eva because I’ve gone back to my love of cooking and haven’t set off the smoke detectors once! 🙂
It’s been a good month, a really good month.

Sometimes it feels like my shovel is made of foam and I’m digging into steel. Good luck with the driving. Maybe you can start somewhere (or sometime) where there is no traffic.

Glad it’s been a good month for you. Hey, if you can get back into driving after 7 years, you can certainly jump back into writing. Take it slow at first, but the creative juices will return and you’ll never want to stop writing.

Good on you for getting back out there. NY licence… That can be quite the ordeal. It took me 7 trips to the DMV to get mine. You can bet it was pretty hard to give up that licence when we moved to Florida. Baby steps. You’ve got this!

Good job, Eva. You’ll get there. I’m glad you’re cooking again. Regarding driving, just take tiny trips at first to build up your confidence. Before long, you’ll be driving everywhere.

I’m so happy to hear things are going well. But I’m confused…setting off the smoke alarm is bad? I call that the Seckman family dinner bell. 🙂
