Hello all! It’s the first Wednesday of the month and we know what that means:
It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group – #IWSG.
My hero, the amazing Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh founded this group and it has become a safe haven if you are an insecure writer.
Click the image if you would like to be a part of the #IWSG family. You won’t regret it.
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been blogging for some time. Not exactly news anymore, is it? That’s why I’m thankful for the IWSG because it’s the one thing I look forward to the most. It keeps me blogging at least once a month, or every other month, as has been the case lately. There’s a lot going on (when isn’t there, am I right?) but I’ll save that for my other blog’s post here.
Oh, I know! I will completely fall out of a story if there are too many typos. And there is nothing more frustrating than being in the middle of a super-amazing story and bam! typo. Great post 🙂

Simple editing errors – especially ones the author themselves could have caught with a read through, set my nerves on edge too. Its usually self-pub books that it happens with; but it seems more and more editors and publishers aren’t fixing those either.
I read through your last post a bit too. Yes, I write reviews. Not much anymore. I found myself writing the same basic review for too many of my writer friends in the blogs. Its not the author’s fault I love them in the blogs, but don’t like reading in those genre’s. However, I don’t leave a review with less than three stars – unless the story is so seriously awful I feel obliged to warn fellow readers. And the author.

I agree, Donna. I try not to post reviews with less than three stars unless it’s really bad. I am so backlogged with my reviews, though. I hope to catch up eventually! Thanks for the visit and comment. Have a great day. Eva

For sure! Just because a person is a talented writer doesn’t mean (s)he doesn’t need an editor. There’s no excuse for publishing a book that’s full of errors.

I definitely knew I wasn’t the only one, Susan. You’re absolutely right about there being no excuse. Hugs to you! Eva

I’ve been in the same boat with blogging, and writing. Too much other sh.. going on right now but I’m hoping that’s turning around soon!
Typo’s seem to be the biggest pet peeve today!

That seems to be the consensus, Yolanda. I’m sorry you also have so much going on right now. I hope everything turns around for the both of us! Hugs. Eva

And I missed you. I’m always thinking of my blogs and friends even when I’m not able to get on as often as I’d like. I love knowing that you’re always here for me. Much love to you and the family, Deanie! Xoxoxo

Eva! Good to hear from you.
Typos in big releases are unacceptable. Those definitely should’ve been caught.
