Hey everybody! It’s the first Wednesday of the month and we all know what that means right?? 😀 Yay! It’s time for another meeting of the Insecure Writers Support Group! #IWSG. Let me say that my hero, Ninja Captain Alex J. Cavanaugh, founded this amazing group of people. If you are an insecure writer of any kind, feel free to click on the image to your left and join us. You won’t regret it. Take a gander at what I pulled from the website for you:
Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!
Before I continue, I’d like to thank this month’s co-hosts for the wonderful job they’re doing zooming around the blogosphere trying to keep up with us and offer up their bits of wisdom and encouragement:
I have to admit, I did well for the month of May. I took the initiative and got my hands dirty. I didn’t have enough time to be insecure about much of anything. As most of you already know, the loss of my Petie back in March really hit me hard. That was a real wake up call for me.
It was my ‘Call to Action’, for lack of any better term, cliché as it is, to get off my butt and do something. I signed up for several publications and sites, I joined an advocacy group (doing as much as I can from home), and started another blog called My Miracle Life which will focus primarily on my life post stroke. It will also offer stroke prevention tips, resources, websites, articles, etc.
Not only that, I opened another Twitter account, started learning poetry through a friend via an online workshop, and drum roll please…threw my hat in for the WRiTE CLUB 2014 competition. Whoever said I wasn’t a glutton for punishment? Woo-sah! But I think that’s going to be something for next month’s post.
All in all, I’ve accomplished a lot in May and I’m aiming even higher for June. How much have you gotten accomplished lately? Are any of you going to battle in WRiTE CLUB 2014 this year?
Thanks for recommending the Insecure Writer’s Support Group, Lillica. It sounds like it’s exactly what I need!

Trust me Christa, you won’t regret it. I love being a part of this group. I’ve been a loyal member since last April, I think. Very supportive group.
I also recommend that you follow the founder of the group, Alex J. Cavanaugh. He is a wonderful author, and kind/humble human being. http://alexjcavanaugh.blogspot.com
You can call me Eva. We know each other well enough from Twitter. Lilica (Lily) is my pen name. Trying to get everyone used to using my given name now.

Likewise Charles! Look at you, putting out all these books and novellas. Can a girl at least get an autograph?

Sure. Though I haven’t quite figured out the eBook signing yet. There’s authorgraph, but nobody ever seems to use that.

Authorgraph? Never heard of it… Hmm. Well, all I know is I want in on the next reveal, hop, tour, whatever. 🙂

I think I’ll only be doing a cover reveal for the next book. Another 2 months off though.

Thanks. I’ll probably make a post for volunteers beforehand. My memory would fail me.

Last week I decided to list the projects I’m working on and got a bit nervous when the number rose to 10. Luckily, some overlap and save energy. I’ve been blogging more on two sites also. I’m having fun though. I hope you are, too!

Go you! What a lot of achievements. I’m sitting back (a little bit) right now, having completed my writing course, and done a load of road safety presentations for the Commonwealth Games. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in June! xx

Honey, come June I’m gonna need a vacation–or a holiday as you say in your neck of the woods. And don’t think I’m not putting my pennies away either. 🙂 Although I’m probably not heading over that way for at least another year or two. 😦

I’m sorry to hear about your loss and the stroke. I pray that you continue to get better day by day. Kudos to you for trying something new with writing, poetry. I used to write poetry a lot when I was in high school, but now I don’t have it anymore. I was quick to come up with witty things and rhyming was my thing, now not so much!

Girl, you knew about the stroke! Lol. We talked about it. 😀 As for the poetry, once you got it, you never lose it. I bet you’ve probably just been too busy with all the other stuff that life’s thrown at you that’s all. When you have a little down time, give it a whirl again. You’d be surprised. Hugs.

I know I knew, but I’m still sorry about it. Every time you bring it up, i’ll be sorry about it. Yea, I will try someday.

Lol, silly. You crack me up. Don’t be. As long as I’m getting better, that’s what matters. Someday soon, I hope.
